I was struck by the black skeletons of the Mugga Iron bark standing strong on the scorched landscape following a bush fire. It was amazing to watch the transformation as the trees sprouted new growth and the ground sprouted wildflowers from seeds that had been germinated in the refinement of fire.
I am often amazed at how the response and character of the landscape is also reflected in its people. We have experienced extremely difficult circumstances in Australia recently with drought, bushfires and a serious health pandemic.
My hope is that “Beauty from Ashes” would be a picture of hope and renewal for those who view it. It is a positive visual image of the wonderful new life, generosity, resilience, kindness, goodness and beauty displayed in the landscape and its people in times of devastation.
