Jenny Greentree introduces you to her latest exhibition "Flourishing Floodplain"

Following exhausting efforts fighting to keep water out of our gallery in the flood of December 2022, I was thinking about finding joy even in the midst of difficulties. All things are always being made new. This major flood in the Darling River was a great example.

As the floodwaters receded the earth made a vivid transformation.  Our often dry landscape was alive with birds and thick, green grasses. Using pastels, I painted “Flourishing Floodplain” not only to express the astonishing beauty and abundance that emerged,  but also to offer a picture of renewal and hope.
