Description

I often find immense peace and joy in observing the tranquil reflections along a still river. It’s a wonderfully soothing experience for both the body and mind. With this in mind, I created “Still Waters” specifically for Macquarie Home Stay. This piece features a serene section of the Darling River at North Bourke. My aim was to produce a calming, yet mesmerising artwork that might evoke comforting memories of home while instilling a sense of peace and reassurance in the guests during their stay.

The tree branch in the foreground is reminiscent of a comforting arm of protection. The egret and birds remind me of life and encourage gratitude for the provision of my needs. The entire scene reminds me of the Lord’s care, guiding me by still waters and restoring my soul.

It is my sincere hope that visitors will not only appreciate this artwork but also feel a sense of relaxation, safety, and “home” as they attend to their medical needs and treatments away from their own homes.
